Professor and researcher at the Department of Multimedia, Media, and Communication of the Institute of Arts, University of Campinas (Unicamp). I teach in the undergraduate program in Social Communication – Midialogy and in the graduate program in Multimedia. Since 2010, I have been dedicated to the study of sound and music in cinema and television. I hold a PhD and a Master’s degree in Multimedia from Unicamp, both focused on this topic. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Music at Unicamp, with an exchange at the Higher Institute of Music, National University of the Litoral. Between 2017 and 2018, I was a visiting researcher at Monash University (Arts Research Graduate School, Faculty of Arts), and in 2019, I was a visiting researcher at Indiana University (The Media School) and at the Center for Documentary Research and Practice (CDRP). I also work as a production sound mixer and as a sound editor/sound designer. Recently, I worked as a production sound mixer for Deus ainda é brasileiro (God Is Still Brazilian), directed by Cacá Diegues, and for more than 30 episodes (2023–2024) of the television series Hollyoaks (Channel 4, Lime Pictures, Liverpool, UK). I am the principal investigator of the CNPq Research Group “Film Sound Studies” and one of the coordinators and proponents of the Thematic Seminar “Histories and Technologies of Sound in Audiovisual Media” at the Brazilian Society of Cinema and Audiovisual Studies (SOCINE) for the 2025–2026 biennium. I am a member of the World Forum for Acoustic Ecology (WFAE), the Association of Sound Post-Production Professionals (A3pS), the Brazilian Audiovisual Preservation Association (ABPA), Visible Evidence, and SOCINE. I am also a researcher at the Center for Research in Documentary Cinema (CEPECIDOC – Unicamp) and at the research group “Audiovisual Ecosystems: Theories, Histories, and Poetics” (Unicamp).
